By adopting the STORMSTORE system, it is possible to incorporate an economical harvesting system for non-potable use. With a dedicated plumbing system there are possibilities to reduce mains water consumption by 50%.

Stormwater is collected by conventional means and diverted into the STORMSTORE tank system, through a filter which removes any dirt. The outflow is attenuated within the exit pipework through a calculated orifice, in harmony with the natural ecology.

When incorporated into foundations, there is a significant saving of concrete; when connected into pipe runs, the saving is of granular bed and surround, or concrete surround.

Calculations have shown that generally six of the 500 litre tanks can reduce run-off from a typical house to green field rate and this number of tanks can be accommodated within a standard double garage trench foundation.

The rainwater harvesting systems can be designed to provide either irrigation and general amenity water, or, using dedicated plumbing, can be for secondary household use.
