Stormwater Managment
SUDS Sustainable Urban Drainage System

Home | Next Page

The control of storm water on any site constitutes a major challenge for developers. The use of sustainable urban drainage systems -SUDS - is seen as the way forward. Many issues are still unresolved about their application and adoption.

A form of control universally used for storm water attenuation is the concrete culvert, with the rate of flow regulated by a vortex control system. This type of system is costly and is dependent upon availability of a suitable area to locate the culverts.

After many years of development, a unique and practical solution has been created by STORMSTORE.

The STORMSTORE system of storm water attenuation is achieved by installing polyethylene tanks within the site. The tanks can be laid within foundations, under hard surfaces or within online storm drains. These units are strong yet lightweight and economical. This makes them easy to install by any competent ground worker, they require no special tools, and are easily handled on site.

In storing the rainfall within the confines of the plot, the run off can be regulated to a specific rate, thus reducing the size of adoptive sewers. Integrated with other recognized systems of storm water percolation, such as soak ways, further costs can be saved with the reduction of commuted sums, and increased plot density.
